Welcome to my blog which will follow my progress during my graduation film for university.
The film is about a little girl, aged seven who has to go to the front of the class and tell every one what her mum does for a living.
Here is the synopsis
A little girl is about to talk in front of her class for 'what your parents do for living,' she starts to talk about her mum who fights dragons after she drops the little girl off to school, once she tells the story her class mates processed to make fun of her and call her a lair, they continue to make fun of her until the end of the day when her mum arrives, with torn clothing, blood on her face and a dead dragon being carried over her shoulder. The girl's class mates are in shock and the girl runs up to her mum who takes her home.
I have had feed back from both my fellow students and tutors, though I don't think my tutors really understood what I'm doing with my film just yet so I will briefly explain now my inspirations and the medium I have chosen to use for this film.
The film will be full CGI animation and will take visual inspiration from the likes of Horton hears a Who (2008) and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009.) The more cartoony look will suit the film more as it is aimed mainly for children but still retain an appeal for the older audience.
I have got some ideas on what the mum in the film does act and look like same with the dragon but I will give them both their own posts within the next two weeks once I have defined them a bit more, the little girl has a lot more work to be put into her.
